About the Author
Joan Brown has always excelled academically. She was valedictorian of her high school and graduated cum laude from Hunter College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She also received her Master's degree from Columbia University, graduating cum laude. Her passion for teaching began when she tutored pupils for the New York City Board of Education. Over the years, she has tutored numerous children and adults in academics and nursing.
Using the ideas in this book, she advanced her daughter from basic skills classes through induction into the National Honor Society. Her daughter obtained an academic scholarship to attend the University of the Arts, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in four years. She is confident that any parent can accomplish the same utilizing the ideas in this book.
She is a retired nurse practitioner who is currently a certified diabetic educator and lives in Tampa, Florida.
